The 55th International iris Competition was held in italian city of Florence. Once agoing the ukrainian contestants were not left unnoticed. Along with varieties by american hibrydyzaitors Keith Keppel (his SILK ROAD awards Gold Florin), Paul Black, Thomas Johnson, Michael Sutton, Schreiner's family, Tiziano Dotto from Italy and Gary Middleton from U.K., our SERTSE OKEANU was in the top ten iris varieties of the world.  

On May 28-30, 2010 the exhibition hall of M.Gryshko National Botanic Gardens was flooded with a wealth of colours, scents and shapes as it housed the first national exhibition of bearded irises. The exhibition was organized by the Ukrainian Iris Society established in the current year.

Thousands of people enchanted by the beauty and grandeur of these marvelous flowers visited the exhibition during three days of its work. Seven magnificent collections were shipped from different regions of our country. We cannot but mention the collections presented by national botanical gardens (Yu. Buidin), hybridizers from Kyiv region – O. Monako, Z. Hlumenko, I. Samoilenko, from Poltava region – A. Chornohuz, the Jakymenko family from Chernihiv region and our collection from the city of Ternopil`.

It is noteworthy that out of thousands of exhibits (almost 700 cultivars by leading hybridizers from all over the world) our home varieties such as ODNA KALYNA, DELFIN I RUSALKA, JA NAMALIUJU DOSHCH, STARY DZVONAR, KORONATSIYA KOROLEVY, SONTSE KUPAYETSIA, SONIACHNI KLARNETY made a lasting impression on all the visitors of the exhibition. It signifies a constantly growing interest to the Ukrainian cultivars whose aesthetic and planting qualities are as high as of their foreign counterparts.

It is quite symbolic that such an event coincided with the 75th Anniversary of M.Gryshko National Botanic Gardens.

Great news has arrived from the City of Florence, Italy where the 54th International iris Competition was held and our Delfin i Rusalka was in the top ten iris varieties of the world.  

During  1-10 June flower company "Igor" hosted annual tall bearded (TB) irises exhibition "Iryda-2009". More than a hundred and a half iris varieties were featured daily  (in total about five hundred varieties including novelties of Australian, American and French selections, as well as our own creations).

This year among your favorites there are such classic varieties as PISNYA SOLOVIA, ODNA KALYNA, MYROSLAVA, BAL ROZLUCHENYKH SERDETS, as well as newly registered super ruffled MOLYTVA, BARBARA BRYLSKA, KLIUCHI VID NEBA, KORONATSIYA KOROLEVY...

New works by foreign hybridizers have also attracted public’s attention, especially such varieties as VIENNA WALTZ, BUBBLE BUBBLE, LOUISA`S SONG, CRAZY FOR YOU.

It is pleasant to note that not only citizens of Ternopil, but guests from Lviv, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyy, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Odessa, Kryvy Rih have visited our show. It’s becoming traditional!

It has become traditional to meet summer with a colourful variety of irises.

June 3-10, 2008 florist’s “Ihor” (Ternopil) housed the 10_th jubilee iris exhibition “Iryda-2008”

Every time I’m eager to present as many cultivars as possible, to show novelties of the season and pay tribute to favourite irises famous for their colours and forms.

The exhibition featuring hundreds of flowers demonstrates the progress of selectionists’ work. For the last decade they have changed thin petals into ruffled, as if carved “wax” standards and falls of luxurious, royal flowers.

This year we can rejoice at the flowering of our novelties: majestic black and violet with brown beards STARYY DZVONAR, white APOSTOL, amethyst, super ruffled gigantic AVTOHRAF DLYA TEBE, bluish PONAD KHMARAMY.

Visitors pay special attention to cultivars originating in southern hemisphere (the so called ‘Australians’). In Ukraine they adapted well and enriched the iris colour scheme: COFEE WHISPERS has got white standards (upper petals) and coffee-coloured falls (lower petals), while IN THE STARS has got pink and coffee-coloured falls. Everybody was impressed by exceptionally beautiful DECADENCE with gold yellow and apricot standards and red-purple falls with apricot fringe.

It takes a lot of efforts, time and money to arrange such an exhibition. But when you see the visitors’ rapt gazes, when people from all over Ukraine come to participate in the iris holiday, and these people grow in number; when you hear enthusiastic visitors telling how the cultivars purchased for the last few years flower at their crofts, you get inspired to continue your creative work.

This year exhibition has come to its end but there remain hundreds of people fascinated by the beauty of irises in bloom welcoming the beginning of the summer...

The 3^rd international flower exhibition ”Flowers & HorTech 2008”

Every international exhibition is considered as a grand occasion and an international flower exhibition is like a journey into the fairy tale. Thousands of roses around the artistic house at the stand of “Askaniya Flora”, its arch-shaped entrance being decorated with orchids, bougainvilleas and lilies; the exposition by “Kameliya” is getting started. The vases with human-height alstremerias at the stand of a Dutch company immediately arrest our attention. Such flower splendor exists only in dreams … or at exhibitions.

On April 15-17, 2008 International Exhibition Center in Kyyiv housed the 3rd international flower exhibition ”Flowers & HorTech 2008.”

Almost 150 companies from all over the world took part in this great event. It is worthy of note that among them there were such world known companies as Rosen Tantau, W.Kordes Sohne, MEILLAND INTERNATIONAL and many others. Magnificent flower compositions were displayed by such regular participants as Plantpol-Ukraine, Interflora Ukraine, Askaniya Flora, Kameliya …

It was the first time our company became the member of this exhibition but saying the least of it, our irises impressed half of the visitors of the show.

The catalogues of our goods were sold out for less than two days. This fact helped us to expand our client database and facilitated our confidence in the idea that irises we cultivate have become quite popular with the iris-fanciers. The visitors were not in the least impressed by our fir trees, thujas, and box trees.
